2015 and beyond! – Drumming, Improv and…running a theatre company!?

Though it may have been quiet on hollymallett.wordpress.com for a few months, Holly has in fact been exceedingly busy. 2015 looks set to be an exciting and varied year with music, film and theatre work already completed and on the horizon!

As of this January, Holly has become Co-Artistic director of London-based theatre company…

Casting is currently in the final stages for a workshop period in early April at the highly renowned Theatre Royal, Stratford East.

They are also planning on re-launching their acclaimed new writing night later in the year, so budding actors, writers an performers – don’t hesitate to get in contact and keep in touch!

Holly is also excited to announce that she has joined the team for Waiting For The Call – The improvised Musical!

WFTC is an entirely improvised, full-length musical that uses audience suggestion and input to create the basis of a totally random – and often crazy – premise to turn into a show. Holly fell in love with the improv form whilst training and as a long-time lover (and self-professed geek) of musical theatre couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this wonderfully crazy group!

Her next show with the team is THIS SUNDAY at the Hen And Chickens theatre, Islington.
Come along and witness the opening – and closing – night of the Next. Blockbuster. Musical!!!
This performance will also be used as a preview and funding platform for their run at The Space, Edinburgh this august, a run for which Holly has been asked to join!

Finally, Holly is still working with a series of companies on various musical projects and her drum work continues to flow.
— In late 2014 she completed her first recording session with Universal-Music-Group  for artist Cloe Corpse at the Universal recording studios in Kensington.

— 2014/15 also sees Holly drumming for political-minded punk-infused rockers logo small, most recently for a SAVE SOHO gig at the Alleycat, Denmark Street.

— 10th April will see Holly’s first gig in years as drummer for old Black Nazarene bandmate MERCY on her solo work. Get ready to see this artist perform for the first time with a full band.
— Holly is also exceedingly excited to announce she is working with artist SOPHIE JANES and on May 7th will be helping her recreate her expansive sound live onstage at The Bedford. This promises to be a beautiful, theatrical night and is not to be missed!!

Add to this the ongoing work Holly does drumming for RARE Productions and various other musical theatre organisations and this promises to be a busy and exciting year!

Watch out for more updates coming soon!
